steering linkage is all the same. I changed because mine was broken and loose. And i got a good deal on those parts.
With sold and bought parts, its cost me way less than a new sled. You only need time to get the deal where they are. The hardest thing i had to find was the Wire Harness and computer. Its EXPENSIVE even USED.
And, my sled is like new, except for the rear extension.

I am looking to keep the RX-1 engine since it is boosted. But I would really like to put apex plastic on it. I was thinking of a using a after market apex turbo hood and PIIA lights - just the the Lower OEM plastic, tank cowling, d-frame and gastank.
I am not in a hurry - looking for good deals due to expensive shipping costs.
Once again Tundra - awesome job - hands down!!!!!!!!!!

honestly, i see problem with gas tank. But i may be wrong. apex gas tank as fuel pump in it, i dont know if you can connect vaccum fuel pump from Rx-1 on it, but since you are boosted, i assume you dont have anyway the vaccuum fuel pump.
Im sure you can find the apex plastic on here easily. I do like the apex driving position more than my Rx-1 rider forward. I know its not everybody that think the same, but just my feeling.
Otherwise, its so easy what you want to do, you will do that in a week-end easy. Bottom oem apex parts fit in the same hole than Rx-1. Its only miss some rubber attachement. You will figure this out quickly.
If you have a old Mountain mod seat or Rx-1 seat, you will notice that the tank cowling is shorter. My buddy extended mine with Fiberglass.

Sounds good conserning the fitment with the lower plastic (RX-1 vs.apex). Always nice when somebody else has done it before you.
Since it is boosted - the vacum fuel pumps are not justed anymore. The turbo kit for the rx-1 uses an eletric fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator to deliver fuel. So that wouldn't be a problem. Powderlites also makes a real nice fuel pump kit that fits the apex gastank.
I already have a rs vector mountain seat from 2006 (apex style) - so gas tank cowling wouldn't be a problem.

tundra said:Other problem, Speedo come from a short track, calibration is off. I saw 170 km/h with a 162 x 16 x 2.5, thing that is impossible. I dont know how to change that. I checked with my buddy apex, when he is at 147 km/h wot, am at 153 km/h (but only 3/4 WOT)

Weird, The track length shouldn't effect the speedo...
Just gearing changes and the track lug size should.
Calculate what percentage the speedo is off by, and take that percentage teeth off of the reluctor down by the speedo sensor.
Leave an extra tooth or two on it and see how close it is.
If you have to take off another tooth, do it and fine tune until it's just right.
Just remember, you can't put the teeth back on!
Sled looks awesome!!!

Track lenght does'nt affect speedo, but Driver size do, am running 7 tooths 3.0 pitch drivers vs 9 tooth 2.52 for short.
I ran a good 91 mph on the GPS and the speedo was showing 106 mph.
14 % off. This is a lot, let me tell you that my first run with this new/old/new sled, i was almost crying, that was looking to be 19 mph faster than my RX-1 in a shorter distance.
I was kinda deceived when i took the GPS with me
but i was still 13 mph faster
