anyone have one they would part with?

I finally have all the parts I need to go to 144, but I am going to gear down 1 tooth when I change the track out this winter. I have some parts I can trade also

Going 17t because seriously when do i ever get a long stretch...?? NEVER. Never been on a trail since 1998 even lol.

thanks guys

thanks. figured Id post here cause not typically much phazer talk in the classifieds!

cant remember, are you swapping to 8 tooth mtx/xtx drivers also? If so you should be very happy with a 17 tooth for strickly off trail. I swap between 19t and 17t on my MTX depending on where I'm going, usually use the 17t out in the UP. The 17t quickly runs out on trails though, around 70-72mph on the GPS where as the 19t will go 78-80mph gps before its out of gear. Also 8 tooth drivers on a factory 9 tooth sled will make you speedo almost dead on.

no, leaving drivers as is. FX had 18t gear... right? Anyway going down 1 gear should minimize clutching tweaks (should make up for extra track resistance). Done this before when going bigger or longer track and has worked good in the past.

Sorry Mike it's in mine. And no I did not lose even 1 mph. Clutching stayed same also.

I geared down too when going to 144 worked great and left the big drivers in it, no mods to the clutch and it never hits the limiter.

It looks like the part number for the 17 tooth gear is the same for 2007 as it is for 2016, so apparently no changes were made: 8GC-17682-70-00
It might also be worth looking for an aftermarket replacement, as I remember seeing some a while back that were considerably less expensive, at least for the larger gear. Team Industries makes some gears (though I don't have a link at the moment) and I know I've seen some on the Wahl racing website. If I remember correctly, the Phazer uses 11 plate/"11 wide" gears. I would think that you would be able to find someone in Canada with the gear you're looking for, whether it comes from Yamaha or one of the aftermarket companies. Good luck! :)
