1800 Apex miles Happy :D

I have been using Armor All on the plastic - anything better? What do you detailers REC?

Tunnel Howl - I am convinced its more track clips than exhaust- I hit a big jump and sudden quiet in air followed by return of noise upon a rare ;)! perfect landing. Also no howl on the lift in the garage. Any difference with fully clipped track? Any thoughts on dampening the tunnel? I am used to it but would be nice if it was gone.

Windshield, choices, Is it true there will no after market from Sport Tech? I saw the tall and it changes the look of the sled drastically. Do you guys like the mediums.

Sorry for all the ?'s I am just home from a 250+ mile day yesterday and detailed the sled and got all excited again ;)!

Mothers Back to Black works great on anything that is black. Even better than Armor All since it doesn’t turn white when it comes in contact with water.

The medium works great.

I use honda spray cleaner on everything. I use it on the painted surfaces, seat, windshield everything. I also us it on my bikes and it disolves bugs. Of course all aluminum has to be shined with mothers after clean.

I use PLEDGE furnature polish in a spray can!! I prefer the orange flavour vs. the lemon!!

There's a product called 303 that's used in the RV industry for rubber roofs to keep the rubber pliable and shield it from UV rays and oxidation. I buy it by the gallon and use it for everything. Contains no petroleum distillates like armor all which actually dries out the rubber and vinyl. It doesn't turn white, brown, no nothing. It simply keeps a anti static, clean, armor all similar appearance that nothing sticks to.
Consumer reports tested protectants a few years back and 303 was the only stuff tested that actually protected the stuff it was applied to.

Medium works great , clean sled inc seat with wd40 !!!

Thanks guys :yam: I will look for 303, and likely buy a Medium windshield at haydays next year.

Nobody has found a way to quiet down the tunnell/track howl?

It's Apples MP3 player. In other words don't worry about the noise. If you find a way for it to go away you will certainly hear something else.

I know Cat put a special track on theirs to reduce the noise level on some machines.

It's funny what happens when you go to a 4 Stroke, you don't have the exhaust masking all the noises on the machine..... At first I thought my clutch on the RX was going to blow apart. Never happened...

Get some tunes, turn them up and enjoy the ride.

Moose I get  and should as I have purchased some of these for the "kids".

Thanks

Ipod & sleds = broken parts and stranded riders. You can't hear the sound of the sled when it starts falling apart IMO. TRUE STORY, second ride fo this season a friend brings his son on his rebuilt 600 cat. I see he is using his Ipod and I say, how can you tell if your sled has problems. They all laughed and told me to leave the kid alone. 10 miles later the cat motor is COOKED. He busted the skid and the track rubbed through the rear exchanger and he over heated the motor and it is toast. He never heard a thing and his mind was on the music and not the feel of the sled. A Yamaha towed it to the curb for the rest of the day. IMO no one should ride a sled with tunes as much as I love music it does not belong on the trail. Doug
