180HP Late Realease Apex????

I heard it was a 225 hp 3cyl SC Bravo and it can tow 1500lbs but only weights just over 300 lbs and has 20 inches of travel.

OH YA and it can leap tall buildings with a single bound :tg:

they have a WAVERUNNER, M-R1 name of motor, that has a supercharger stock from yamaha 264HP! be sweeet in an apex! YEAH BABY bring it! :rules
my mistake, its a 1.8=1812cc supercharged engine, M-R1 different engine. it would be to heavy anyway! :hide:

Yamaha extended large rebates to dealers this week to clear showrooms , new 2008 apex's
$9600. cdn
2 year warrantys

besides if yamaha was going to come out with a new bigger machine it would be aliitle bigger than a 180hp. That and no one would really buy it. This years apex is 16200, a 1000 bucks more than last years model and nothing has changed imagin what a 180hp sled would be worth $$$$$$$

Why do we keep talking about this. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.. They already layed it out and these posts keep coming up from people who talk to their dealers that are completely unaware to what is going on.

They have a new apex, 4cyl and 165hp ready but it will not be released this year - or maybe it never will.. Same sled that everyone was talking and heard rumors about last year. This is from a guy high up in the yamaha-scandinavia system.

I do know they were testing a new sled up in the UP. For whatever reason they decided not to let it out yet. It might have to do with Yamaha cutting back production by about 60% after the 2010 season. The prices are going to go way up after 2010 too.

Where did you here they were cutting back production to 60 percent. If that's the case, they may just close the snowmobile devision.

Don't see the high HP sled coming anytime soon, but there is a bad azz boat out and it would be nice to see that motor in the Apex.

It will be really interesting to see how the 4 mfgs do over the next few years. Remember...cat left once, and after seeing the fit and finish and overall quality (or lack of) on his F1000 I am amazed anyone buys a cat. It was at my place for a few weeks and I cleaned it up for him before a trip, and geeze was that thing "cheap" looking. Too bad cuz I would like to buy something built here, but there is just no comparison next to the Yamaha's IMO.

Yamaha have not seen red numbers since 1984 but because of the big loss in sales in europe and north america they expect a giant deficit in 2009.

Sales in europe 07 was 410 000 - 08 366 000
Sales in North America 07 was 197 000 - 08 167 000 (bikes, snowmobile)

in 2009 they expect a 22% drop in sales and a 460 million$ loss. No nice numbers for us who wants to see a new apex soon i guess

If it really is a 165hp sled 4 cylinder, how much R&D do they really have in it.

The motor was already there, they may have just tweaked it. Just like what they did to the R1 bike. They just keep tweaking it.
