I heard that it will have a hotdogger made right on the turbo housing. Now that is Sweet.

I don’t recall Yamaha ever having a late spring release. I do believe there is a new model to be released, but I’m sure its on hold till at least next model year. Fact of the matter is we’re in slow times and current inventory just doesn’t allow a new model just quite yet IMO. Kind of clever what Yamaha has done with 2010 pricing. The crazy 2010 pricing will clean out dealer inventory of 09 and even 08 sleds, which will put them in a good spot for an all-new Apex for 2011. I don’t think dealers will load up on 2010 inventory and really don’t see a late release especially when the snow check incentives kick in. Releasing a new sled while people just snow checked a new sled just doesn’t happen.
We all want our sleds to have good resale value, but that doesn’t come when dealers are loaded up with non current sleds.

there is no power surge this year. there is no spring release, orders are already in from the dealers. give it up. dealers only connections to yamaha is their rep and calling a tech line. they dont have any special connections.

Are you referring to my post? Do you know the dealer I am talking about? They do have an advanced advantage on new models more so than any dealer I know of. Minouqua is only about 1-1.5 hours away from these guys. They use their land all the time to test when the snow is no good at Yamaha's test site. I have been there several times when Yamaha has been there. In fact I was staying in their cabin a couple years ago when they tested the proto type Nytro........my truck was parked 100 yards away from them. I was told by the dealer not to go over by them and NOT to take any photos of the sled. I obliged being I did not want to hose up our hospitality by them. We heard the sleds through the trees but stayed out of their site. They know what Yamaha has but won't say. Do you blame them? Why mess up a good thing.

Re: Crossplane R1 Engine??
I agree, the Cross-plane crank engine will likely be the next Apex engine.
Here is a very good desciption of the engine.

He seems to think that they are putting the R1 Crossplane crankshaft engine into the sled. We have Yamaha up at the Snodeo next weekend will do some digging but if you look at the specs and the characteristics of this engine it certainly makes sense.
