- 2013 Nytro XTX 1.75
New to the forum, 4-stroke sleds and Yamaha. After an extensive search for my perfect sled...the sled that would stop me from shopping for sleds every year...I picked up a 2013 Nytro XTX 1.75 (Black) from a friend of my primary riding buddy.
After looking at Arctic Cat TZ1 Turbos, XF Turbos & 800s, and Ski-Doo Renegade 800s I visited a few dealers and sat on every chassis type I could find. This is my opinion:

After looking at Arctic Cat TZ1 Turbos, XF Turbos & 800s, and Ski-Doo Renegade 800s I visited a few dealers and sat on every chassis type I could find. This is my opinion:
- Arctic Cat Twin Spar Chassis - Take a 90's sled and make it taller and heavier, seat is also too wide. I couldn't imagine riding a Twin Spar aggressively on trail, let alone off.
- Arctic Cat Pro Cross - Great riding position, HARD seat. Two many problems with the 2012's and reverse problems with the 4-strokes. I ride with an XF1100 Turbo (230hp+) and the power is addictive, but the parts cost prohibitive and top speed isn't my thing. The uncoupled skid on the 2012's and 2013's isn't ideal for our local riding.
- Ski-Doo XP - Great riding position, everything falls at hand. Piston recall and short life of the 800 Etec caused me to look at other options. 800 Ptec has a short life expectancy and I'm done with 2-stroke carbs.
- Ski-Doo XS - XP improved with 800 Etec. Too new for my budget.
- Ski-Doo XR - Whatever makes the XP feel great, didn't get passed to the XR. I think its how they enlarged the cowling compared to the XP.
- Polaris - I have no idea how they feel. I have enough first hand reports of the engine vibration and extremely short life expectancy that a Polaris 800 isn't an option.
- Yamaha Pro Cross - See Pro Cross above, and add the "best motor on snow". Too new for my budget.
- Yamaha Nytro - This sled fits me. The riding position, the contour of the seat, the position of the bars. The look, with the exception of the polished tunnel. The feel of the sled changed how I felt about everything else, years of reading and hearing about the motor sold me.
