I was shown today an oil fill plug in top of motor. I heard of this before but looked for it on our other sled when doing filter change but never found it. I found it on mine today, after dismantling pretty much everything but the motor like everyone I'm sure is well aware of. I was told to dump a litre in here and the rest in tank, run sled, then top off. Sound right to everyone?? I have 3 litres and I think a part one, hopefully it'll be enough. How tight do you do the filter? The one I took off was extremly tight!

i'm assuming you're talking about an apex. tighten the filter as tight as you can by hand. as for filling with oil. you don't put oil in the engine, just in the tank. it explains the procedure in the manual. i think you put a certain amount in the tank, run it and then add the rest to get to the fill mark. make sure you check the dipstick unscrewed, don't screw it in.

Yup, 2010 Apex. Dealer was the one that told me of the plug on engine and dumping litre there, can't remember his explanation, but have heard that before from somone else.

first off.... you need 3.6 litres with a filter change... you can add about 1/2 litre to engine.... but i would not add more... all you need to do is add to tank, run for a min or 2... let sit.. top up as needed.... dealers in this part also just sell most guys 3 litres for an oil change... not enough.... look on the top of you belt guard... has your oil levels there....

I did my apex..and then took my wifes to the dealer..they only charge you 60 bucks plus oil..sounded good to me..made a mess and then had to get rid of the oil..burnt it..and hit my nuckel..forget that..as far as how tight...hand tight ..and not like the hulk..
