I'm sure this has been discussed before but can someone tell me what needs to be done to change the oil/oil filter in a 06 GT? We are about to change the oil/oil filter for the first time, since we just got past 500 miles. If anyone can explain how to do this or knows of a writeup with pics of how to change the oil/oil filter it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I think you can use the search function and find a good writeup on it...
also, the owners manual is pretty good on the oil part....the filter part is all about removing the battery ect to get to it....
Ive done mine several times now,its simple once you do it....im sure there is a thread here with it all...
try search.

I tryed the search but there is 200+ pages containing the phrase "oil change". So I take it the oil filter is under the battery. I already have the pod off the sled and the air box off. Is there anything else I should know.
Thanks,

ok..you have airbox off...great...
remove the battery and remove the crossover tube, its abit tricky to finagel the tube out but you need to remove it...there are some wires with tie straps that will need to be moved, make note of their postion for later..these tie straps are the removable type and will be reinstalled.
once you get down to the filter, put a rag under it and remove it...can be tricky with proper filter wrench.BE sure to drain OIL first, from bottom plate under sled, and remove the allen key drain bolt..drain all oil...also drain the reservoir on side of sled...there is another drain bolt there..drain all before removing filter.
ok...now all is drained....install new filter....install drain plugs into reservoir and motor bottom ect...
reintall all wiring and tie straps in reverse order..and battery.
add approx 2 qts oil to reservoir...start motor and idle for a minute or two..then stop motor and add remaining amount of oil to reservoir....check to be sure level it correct on dipstick without screwing in the dipstick.
this is a brief description of this job....

When changing oil you should take the line off the oil tank and remove the filter inside the tank. This could have a buildup of dirt. I do it every time. I know the RX 1 has the filter. Have'nt changed the GT or RTX yet.

The book says nothing of a filter inside the res tank.
