Went riding yesterday, there was about 2' of snow at the top. (About 8" of powder on top of a firm base) The Apex is a buddies sled. We did some changes to the suspension, ride height, muffler and clutching. The sled ran great (Has the fastest throttle response of any sled I have ever rode!) It rides VERY nice, easy to throw around. The track seems to work pretty good although we need alot more powder for a real test. It was reving around 10,200 at the truck(2400') and 9800 at the top (6500') We put in a set of 8BU-00 like I run in my Turbo RX-1. We have 4.5 pins in the middle hole and 2.4 hollow pins in the tip hole. We have an O/P/O short spring (Engagement was 4200 Rpm) 14.5 mil rollers and the rear spring was stock wrapped at 60 degrees with a 44-38 Dalton helix. We should have brought the 89Ls up to try as well. I think it will pull better with them. We will be testing them this Sat. The 8BU-00 weighed 57 grams when we were done weighting them up on my digital scale. I run 8BU-00 in my Turbo as they give it more snap on the bottom, but these stockers work better with 89Ls. We will also be changing the primary spring to get the engagement down to 3200-3400 Rpm because it will make it better for boondocking and make the primary hold onto the belt longer when coming down hills (Engine breaking) This thing hits so hard on the bottom end it will also help it get traction when taking off. This is the sweetest sled I have ever rode normally asperated

Lucky you!
Keep up inform on your clutch settings! I ride at 3000 feet and can't decide what to do on the clutch for my altitude!

Where were you riding?...If there is enough snow I'd like to get out at the end of the month. I should be picking up an Apex then from Alpine Motorsports in Salmon Arm.
What did you do about engine break in?

This is up in Prince George area, ask Dean and Julian its called Yanks Peak. Its just outside of Barkerville. It was enough snow to ride in but not worth the drive you would have to make to get here. Tell Dean Hi from Rob.

I'll say hi....I'm going to talk to him today or tomorrow to see where my sled is.
