When I did the chain case service on both of our sleds I noticed the late build sled had two groves machined inside the cover that are adjacent to magnets on the drive shaft. Does anyone know why those groves were added to the cover? Sorry, I forgot to get pictures while it was apart but maybe someone knows why those were added?

Wish I would have noticed this thread earlier, I just put my chain case together today. Could have snapped a pic for reference as to which version

It just got my curiosity becasue on noticed 2 different covers for the same year sled. The April build has no machining and the October build has the extra machining done. So far the best answer is weight savings . haha
