I was talking to one of guys who worked for yamaha and is retired said because of the economy they put a lot of thing's on hold we where to have power steering on the 08 ann sleds. just think what we would have if it was good

I hope they just don't plop the phazer motor in the Nytro chassis. That would be a huge mistake, even the the Nytro is only 30-40# heavier on paper it handles like its 100#+ heavier. Its funny that I went to buy a Nytro and came home with a Phazer just because it was so much easier to "Flick" and I really didn't need the extra HP of the Nytro. An extra 20hp on the Phazer would be nice, right now the have a 55hp gap in the lineup and a 100-110hp twin would fill that gap nicely.

They should bring back an mtx apex. Remove the powersteering on it also. I bet most guys in the mountains would prefer the new apex motor with 160 hp over the 135 nytro motor. combining the nytro and apex and then making a new chassis for the phazer and vector. They seem to have made the nytro for agressive riders but they don't offer the largest engine in it.

Why remove a perfect chassie from a less perfect engine? i´de rather see a new engine in the phazer chassie with less aggresive approuch angle and a different track.

I dont believe the eps would bee a bad thing on a mountain apex, u have do get too the hills before u can start climbing and the apex is really heavy...

I just think combining them two would be a good choice. not necessarily having the nytro or apex but taking good things from both from both to make a good chassis (preferably take the apex chassis to start with). as for the eps I just feel it isn't necessary. Once you start moving a lot of the steering effort is taken away. I'm not saying to make it obsolete just to maybe not make it stock and offer as addon. Which could also help bring the cost of a sled down.
And for a new engine in a phazer chassis thats why i said putting the vector engine in. it is about 120 hp.
if everyone in the mountain area wants a light weight sled and the other three companies are doing just that, some of the current aftermarket items need to be looked at. Tunnel dump exhausts, lighter skids, smaller seats, etc. Not all should be stock but some as an accessory. I'm sure they could make money by partnering up with some of the current companies making them and both sides would benefit from it. lots of yamaha owners that aren't on this site probably know nothing about all the things people sell for their sleds. If these things can be offered at the dealer they will see them and sell more. And by combining two chassis like the nytro and apex, which are most likely going to generate a crowd in the aftermarket area. Then yamaha could spend more time working out deals and getting more dealer sold accessories.
Some of you might think this is bad because cost may increase, but things like that give the company money to invest more into making new things.

Look what they're doing on the New Crew Rhino or what ever its going to be called......has been ready for 2 years & still not released yet!!!

Every other brand is selling the hell out of Crews, but Yamaha has their heads up their azzzzes!

Get'n old!!!

But look at the Lawsuit Yamaha held out on and one relating to side by side units. Why was Yamaha the only one being sued?

Our dealer told us that a Yamaha rep said that Yamaha will be doing its first ever early release in February and they will be dropping both the phazer and nytro chassis. No idea what that would mean though, makes sense to streamline the manufacturing to one chassis.

The closest thing to an early release for yamaha would be the 2002 viper models for the winter of 2001.Close to 50 were produced(but not sold to the public). There is not doubt that a new chassis(or chassis,s)is near.As for new powerplants they may just carry over the 80hp and 130hp engines with a new 110hp engine to follow in 2014.Nothing wrong with the carryover motors as long as it comes in a new chassis with at least a fifty pound weight reduction(100 pounds is possible but it would drive the cost to the moon).Big weight reduction is what the aftermarket does best.
