Is the gauge cluster on the 08 vectors the same as the 05-07 vector? because on yamaha's website it says it has the same stuff as the apex gauge, but when you look at the photo gallery it shows the same gauge as the 05-07 vectors.

And does the vector have the raditor like the apexs? thanks

I'd really like to se some underhood pcs of the new vector, it has me the most excited out of all the new models. Nobody seems to be talking about the vector though. That 3-holer in the Apex chassis is HUGE news to me, could be the best trail sled ever made and I need to upgrade the wifes RX-1. How much lighter will the new vector be than the apex? How much lighter than an RX-1?

the new vector is the sleeper of the lineup for sure.... that sled will turn alot of heads and minds to the 4 strokes.... it gives all the benefits of the db2 chassis with the user friendly 120.... nice fit and great way for yami to use up the db2 chassis so that we will get a revamped apex lineup next year or the year after.....

The new Vector is very disappointing. It is supposed to be their groomed trail sled. It is one of the coldest chassis on the market to ride and what happened to the fuel injection. HEY YAMAHA it is 2008 nobody still uses carbs.

I beleive yamaha stuck with the carbs because the 3 cylinder carb engine such a great running sled anbd the most reliable snowmobile engine they make.

But the Vector will have a real windshield which should help the cold.

I really wanted to wait for the 08 because I assumed the DBII chassis, EFI and Phazer-like suspension. They did the chassis, but that's it (but that chassis is great).

Made me feel A LOT better as I dropped cash a week ago on a new 06 Vector and an 05 Rage with studs and a hundred fifty miles on it for $10,500 + tax. Two sleds for about $1500 more than one new one! Even less than two Phazers!

I'm still a newbie so the older chassis doesn't mean AS much to me, YET. I've had a blast the last two weekends! No regrets. And I figure that will get me to at least the next generation 2011 models.

They need to leave some room to upgrade in between the major model shifts. I'm still banking on EFI next year and a coasting in 2010 so that 2011 will be another big change. Then a few more upgrades in 2012 so by MY-2013, the 2012 models will be slightly discounted just like my 06 was pretty much the same as the 07s, but for less.

The Apex chassis with a big windshield is no more cold than an RX-1 chassis, not to mention lighter with better handling.

Yea right ! When it is 40 degrees.

How much more wind protection do you need? You won't come close to this on a Doo. If you're talking about the riding position, the days of sitting down in behind the cowl are over, thin and tall is in.

The reason the RS Vector lineup didn't receive EFI is because of cost savings and the fact that the Genesis 120 is not affected by temperature or altitude and has great fuel economy as is. Already placed my order for a RS Vector LTX!

I have had "0" problems for the three seasons I've ran may carbed vector.. Starts great, Fantastic gas mileage... MM. ;)!

I need more wind protection than that. This is supposed to be their groomed trail / high mile sled. A ditch banger sled needs no wind protection . A high windshield does not help in the leg and knee area.
I rode with an Apex with a high windshield for several cold days. The guy was always wanting to ride my Vector to warm up. The Apex is a great chassis but a joke for wind protection.

az99 hates Yamahas and merely likes to come here to argue with everyone. :jump:

Disclaimer: This was ment as a joke. If anyone can't see that, then they have no sence of humor and shouldn't be allowed to post on the internet.

Nice use of the ol' "fine print" Tfin!
