I installed a simple little $21 2" riser and now my $200 Yamaha cover won't fit anymore!! What the heck? It's so frusterating! one step forward, two steps back. I was told by Hartman that I needed to drop a gear on top with reclutching, so he sent me a 20 tooth. Got it all apart and it had a 22 tooth on it! Chain wouldn't work. Put it all back together stock. What is normal gearing with reverse on an '03? I can't wait to be done upgrading and just ride the thing! Total waste of all afternoon Saturday.

the 03s came stock with 24-38 gears, if yours was a 22, then your allready down 2. if hartman dident know the stock gearing (he sent a 20) then i would also be wondering about his clutching.

As for the cover, do you have a 'canvas' cover or the lighter (but still good) nylon cover.....I've got the nylon cover and it fits over PowerMadd hand guards and a hooker with room to spare (no riser but I'm sure it would fit a 2"er)....My dad has a canvas cover and man, that thing SUCKS!! It fits way too tight and as soon as it gets wet it's near impossible to put on....I wouldn't doubt that if your cover is canvas, that's the problem.

Did you bother to yell Hartman that you have a short track ? I think they deal mainly with mountain riders and was giving clutching for high elevation longtrack, Ken.
