I was considering adding 2" risers to my RX1. I took a look at it the other day. First question do the riser blocks go upward or on the same plane as the steering column. If they simply added to inches to the column the handle bars would be further back ?? Although I think it has been posted I don't believe from looking at it that all of the cables will reach. Especially the throttle. Comments please. Can anyone post a photo of the 2 " riser block installed. Thanks
A 2" "Block" wont work. But a 2" Rox riser will. It articulates, so it lets you adjust the bar forward and back. There are other Articulating risers out there, I just perfer Rox. They do cost alot more then your stand block style riser. ===SRXSRULE===

Thanks for the link. For those of you that have put risers on is 2" enough. I simply want the ability to stand up in the rough stuff. Also does a 2" riser put your hands out into the wind ????
2" tipped somewhat forward works well for trail riding and yes it will put your hands up in the wind. You will also want a longer throttle cable, I use a stock Yamaha Mountain RX cable which is about 3 inches longer.

Get an 05 Mountain cable, the 04 and 03 were no longer than the RX-1's.
Unless you are pretty short, it still won't raise them high enough to easily stand. It didn't work for me, just made my hands cold

Here is a couple pictures of my '03 with a 2" sportech ABR and a 3/4" MPI riser block with the stock cables. I'm 5'7" and could still use at least another 2" of rise to stand straight up on the sled. My wife's RMK is just right for her and she is 5'4" tall. Notice they are about 1" taller than mine.

I wish I knew you were thinking of a riser block back in Feb because I could have let you ride my sled with the 1" riser block. Pic attached. Hands don't get any more air than normal, but the handlebars don't hit my knees when turning. It also makes it easier when standing. You are tall like me and I really like the extra 1". This is just the standard 1" riser from Yamaha.Smokey said:I was considering adding 2" risers to my RX1.

Smokey, I don't think you should stand up on your sled. I know you just had another birthday and you're getting much too old for that type of riding. I'd hate for you to fall of you're sled like I always do.

I have the 2" Rox articulating riser on my Vector. Its perfect for me since I'm only 5'9". It allows me to scoot up on the tank more when riding agressively and lets me transition from sitting to standing much easier.
My stock cables worked fine as well. It does put my hands up in the wind now, but I plan on adding some hand guards for next season.
