Basically havnet found one on Ebay yet so right now it is between the CC suspension and the SC10 III the only reason I am leaning twards the Skidoo is because RXdave lives 15 minutes from me and he has put one in his sled so looking at how he did it would be easy

Well boys I want to tell you, I just got back from the Yooper for my first ride on the revamped RX-1. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Lets put it this way - I had a new RTX & this old 03 would have eaten it for lunch on the tight twisties.
I know you guys have lost patients with Bender - I ordered my rear before Halloween and jsut got it last week - luckily, or not after totalling the RTX I physically could not ride till this weekend. But the Reaction rear end is a work of genius in my mind. Coupled with the shotgun 1-1/4" track it out launches everything, on the extremely rough trails this weekend it soaked it all up and wanted more. I will not buy a 2007 to replace the RTX I am going to buy a used RX-1 03 or 04 and install another Bender rear in it for my back up and I am going to order 1 for my sx700.
They promissed me 5 times it was going to be shipped and the 7th time was the charm. the instructions are horrible and it did not come with the outside tunnel plates for the front mounting arm which they have attempted to overnight to me 4 times and still have not showed up. This was still all worth it. I think it works better than the Yammy Mono-shock and I will gaurantee it out performs the M-12, Xpert-X and any other stock sled suspension out there.
I set the 42 position clicker on 22 rode for 200 miles the trails turned to junk, all my buddies returned to the motel, I turned it 4 clicks softer and rode another 135 miles into the night.
PM me if you want to know any more about this.

how does it work better than the yamaha one, being that it is the same thing. just the shock? glad to hear it was that good, sorry to hear everything else that has to do with it sucks so bad

Oh on contraire Piere it is not the same. It looks alike but the geometry is slightly different, it does not allow for the running of the inner boggie wheels and the shock is a work of art. The shock in my mind would sell for what they are selling the whole suspension for. You hear all of the guys bitching about bottoming out the shock on the RTX well I weigh 170 and could bottom out the RTX on choppy trail I have this spring set only at 1/3 of the threads and could not in 500 miles of rough riding this weekend get it to bottom once. I flew this thing over several large jumps and it landed smooth secure and there is no kick back. The clicker adjustment is specific and 2 clicks makes a noticeable difference. I could crank on the mono knob on the RTX and never knew if there was a diff. Everything I own will have this rear in it by next year.

Well because Bender is so slow on shipping and I will have to wait until next winter to put it in anyway I guess I will wait and get it next year maybe or find one for sale on here from one of the members getting a new sled. When you installed yours how many of the original suspension parts did you use? I am considering selling my pro craption to help get some of my money back but I dont want to have to buy parts if I decide to upgrade to the Bender next year.

I would still rather have an ohlin rear shock myself. still think that is a superior shock. but glad to hear it is workign great for you! how much of a pain was it drilling new holes from the template? any pics of the template to give me an idea how it will go? might just get an 07 and say heck with it. $$ permitting, of course

The Bender skid uses your existing rails & hyfax along with the front 2 outer bogie wheels. You could sell yours and get rails and wheels off any wreked yamaha 98 on at a later date. The drilling is easy and now that I have one feel that if your only changing suspension and not track wich requires chain case and drive shaft work it can be donw in 1 to 2 - 4 hr nights.

cool. is the template a real nice and easy to use one? or does it just give you measuements? thanks!

The template is a small aluminum block that mounts on the hole in the rear of the skid you drill 1 hole in each set the new rail stiffeners in place lock in with 2 bolts and drill the other 4 or 5 holes in each side with the suspension sitting on the rails. insert bolts and install it in the sled. The location of the new tunnel plates was more of a challenge than setting up skid. Once you know the right rivets to drill out for the plates about 7 existing holes line up install those rivets and then drill the remaining holes and install thos rivets - ready for the skid. Buy an air rivet gun $69 Northern tool & equip. zip zip zip and your done.
