Anyone know what the stock tank size is on a 2003 RX1 I found 10 Gal in a couple of places searching google but I thought it was pretty small compared to the two stroke sleds out there? anyone know the exact size?

According to Yamaha web site, it was 10 gallon tank. That is what I remember too.

Awesome thanks guys. Dont know why I was thinking it was smaller. 10 Gallons will do just fine.

The thing is our four-strokes only need 10-gallons to go as far or farther then those two strokes with their 12-gallon tanks.

Definitely could make it farther than a 2 stroke stock but the RX1 i picked up is turboed so it wont be so easy on gas.

When riding with my friend's REV race sled with a stock 600HO motor in it and the see-thru tank(10 gal), when he's empty I still have just under half (3 bars on my Warrior)left, and we both ride the same way. Granted that's a modified, twin carb motor, newer SDI or etec motors are probably better.
Compared to a carb 2 stroke of comparable power (600cc and up) you'll get a little less than twice the fuel economy, and no $30/gallon oil to add every 2 or 3 fill ups. For the price of one gallon of 2 stroke oil, you can change the oil for the whole season in your Yamaha and have some left over to fill the tank.
Turbo RX? Grandma riding won't be all that much worse on gas as opposed to natural. If you generously apply throttle constantly, yes, your mileage will suck but that's the price for power.
