WAs out for the first 100+ mile ride.My sled was reving 10'600 and a stock rx1 was quicker top end. I burnt 5 dollars more at the pump.Anything over half throttle it was reading 10,000 plus.I have about 4000 miles on the clutch springs and about 5000 on the belt.I think its time to put new belt and springs?How long do the yamaha springs last? A worn spring will lower rpm,s. An old belt will raise rpm,s. Time for a new belt plus it should not be over 10k at 1/2 throttle. Remove clutches & check all the bushings & plastic cam pucks in the secondary.

The secondary plastic pucks are worn and so are the plastic slides in the primary.They will be new by the middle of the week. I thought it might be the belt.The sled has always been fast till now.I guess its time to make fast again lol

clean your clutch faces as well.
rode with a guy with a 03 that had 10,000km on origonal belt. primary clanged when it engaged. burnt more gas than my sx500r in the same distance. blew the belt on same ride. cleaned up primary sheives with a file on my leatherman and some tp. sled ran way better and fuel milage improved drasically.

I had the secondary at 80 degrees. Don't remember doing that but you never know.The biggest lose I noticed was 70 mph and on and the gas it burns

I took the clutches apart and all is fine.I put a new belt on and all is good again.Pulls 9800 but have the secondary at 60 degrees.Going to 70 should get it too 10,200.Top speed is the same as stocker( he has stock finger track,no studs and no reverse) but he seems to be quicker mid range.I going to try and find stock exhaust.I think the gutted muffler is takin away some mid range torque.It was all good on sunday till the chain case let go.The only thing good left is the cover and case.No parts till friday!!!

You should be around 10,200rpms at max. Anything more is a loss and waste of gas.
