2005 Rage NO SPARK

I just bought a 2005 rage that has 2500 mi. that when I bought only had spark in the mag side cyl.. Since then I checked all the ingnition sticks and they all gave spark when I put them on the one cyl. So I figured that it had to be the CDI or Ignitor box whatever you want to call it. So I changed it out and the sled had spark to all three cyl. yay right? nope immediately when down to 2 cyl then slowy to 1 cyl cranking it over then to no spark at all. Now im stumped so have been reading different posts, so I checked the crank pos and got the right ohms on that and also correct ohms on stator according to the repair manual. I traced down most of wiring to look for chaffed or broken wires and found by the handle bars the two green wires on the right side that go to the thumb warmer i believe, were exposed also a wire on the left side that goes to hand warmer exposed. Could this be burning out my CDI? or do I need to investigate further before putting on a new CDI on. Just dont want to burn another. Or is it a totaly different issue I am dealing with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This stuff drives me crazy.

Have you found a fix yet. I had this happen to a bike and never found out what it was. I sold it and forgot about it. Lol

I have heard of the stators going out on these. Have the output checked.
