I have a big bear 400 no spark. shut off with key was running fine. now no spark I checked coil tested bad, replaced still no spark. checked cdi pickup it tests good. check wiring harness for short, check all the grounds. Is there anyway to
check the CDI module?

i would need to find my manual for that one.
is it still cranking with electric start?

yes it cranks with the electric start, I rechecked all of the wiring to the cdi, I have power going to the cdi and all of the wiring to the pickup and the coil all have continuity. I am down to it has to be the cdi box.

my book is at the hunt camp atm.
from what I have found on the internet, it is usually the pick-up coil on the stator that is the problem. I did find one test where someone used a aa battery on test leads to make the plug fire through the cdi to test it. but in most cases I have read the stator is the problem not the cdi.

finally got the big bear going after checking all of the wiring, it was the CDI box. $280 later.
