I have to replace the track on my wife's sled and am looking for suggestions from the experts!
We live in Maine and mostly ride groomed trails and both are old and slow riders. I'm thinking of either a Ripsaw II or a Ice Attak XT pre studded track. I'd be looking at studding the Ripsaw as there are times we might have to cross bare lakes that connect trails.
We're just getting back into snowmobiling and are looking forward to your thoughts!

Have Ice Attack on my Vector. Went with the pre studded track when replaced the Ripsaw. Got worried when I saw some missing studs and damage to my front heat exchanger. So pre studded for me now as I'm not a racer. Ice Ripper or Attack pre studded is what I would recommend.

I have had very good luck with pre-studded tracks. In fact I am thinking about going to the Ice Cobra this year on my turbo Viper.

I love the pre studded track I am on my second one. they seem to hold up and give you that little extra on the ice. also no worries about rip outs tears or heat exchanger damage.

I have a Ice Attak XT on the way, thanks for the help!
I have to update the cam tensioner and exhaust donuts, anything else I should check out?
When I have the track off what bearings should I just replace? It has about 9000 miles on it.
Thanks!!!

Are you going with copper donuts?
How are your front suspension bushings? If you have excessive play, they should be replaced.
Personally I would replace all the chaincase and drive bearings. Replace them with genuine Yamaha bearings. They are top quality bearings and well worth the extra money. I found out the hard way trying to save money on cheaper bearings.
Are all of the idler wheels in the rear skid "round".....not warped?
What is the condition of the front and rear track shocks? If they are original with 9K miles, I'd replace them with gas rebuildable shocks.
Have you ever had the front ski shocks recharged? If you haven't you should.
Want me to keep going?

Thanks for the list, I'll grab some Yamaha bearings for the track change.
I have copper donuts, a 4th wheel kit and a soft start spring from BOP ready to go on as well.
I'll look at the other items you posted and work my way down the list, thanks again!!

I guess I have to stop giving people sheet in my posts. Not a good thing to do on public forums I guess.
