hello, I want to put a 2008 engine in a 2005 rage. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences that would prevent the install? The 2008 engine has the blue dot cam chain tensioner. Is there something different with the crank case breather tube?

I think i goosed myself self a little bit. The 2008 vector engine doesn't have a crankcase breather hose, like a 2005. So I don't have a hose to connect to underside of 2005 airbox. There is a breather hose on the 2008 valve cover. Should I try to connect that to 2005 airbox underside?

Engine is all installed and I was getting ready to fire it up soon until I realized about the airbox underside connection.

Anyone with a 2008 vector can show me where the valve cover breather hose goes?

The valve cover hose is just a breather, put a small breather on it and it'll be fine. The 2008 and newer Vector models did not use the oil return part in the air box.

Thanks for the replies Srxspec. I ended up putting the 2005 crankcase/stator cover back on so that I had a hose to connect to the underside of my airbox. Got er mostly back together so I could fire er up. She runs! Just some fine tuning to do and a leaky oil reservoir to deal with.
