Okay, the 05 season is coming fast and i need to make a decision.
First of all does any one have the rx-1 top speed on radar?
I will be riding with mach z, rev 800, fire cat 700 and Zr 900, will I be able to keep up with them on the lake.

If I would get a rx-1 I would clutch it and add the GP-1(Full Race) Exhaust System, with those mods what kind of top speed would I be looking at and I might gear it as well.
I want a fast machine but I still want it to be reliable and trailabull!

I would like to see 120-ish mph with it, am I dreaming?

Not sure on top speed but you can run with all those you listed, mine does. I would get your stuff from Matt @ the speedshop. Also get a ECP K&N kit, Matt has that too.

Since you were inquiring about lake speed runs...

I have a 03 RX-1 and ride with friends that have a 98 Mach Z, 02 Rev 800, and 03 Rev Renegade and keeping up with them is NOT problem. In fact, they're the ones who have a hard time keeping up. :4STroke:

On the dreamometer, 120 is no problem, but in radar speed maybe 115 without the mods. All that speed without the smell too....... That has to count for something...... :4STroke:

what would i need to hit the 120 mark, without using nos or a turbo?
Probably nothing in the right conditions! Ive seen my dads 04 rx 1 er 127 on the dream meter it was exciting to see it that high even though i do know it wasent going that fast but still exciting. :4STroke:

On the lake in good conditions the RX-1 will outrun the Warrior (not by much). Getting to top end is quicker with the Warrior due to its better hookup.

I also found my Warrior to be more stable at speed than what my RX-1 was.

Lets put it this way

I ride a 02 Viper normaly well after hitting a railroad track bolt and bending my trailing arm my brother said I could ride his 04 Warrior for the day as he was not going to be around.. I was like hell ya.. Hit 30 and that thing came alive.. I was like holy #$%&* #$%&* ... Hands down once you get that Rx going forget about it.. Clean smooth power... I was not even pushing it that hard as it was not my sled... You don't even know your going as fast as your going without looking down.. No smoke, worries, smell, the sound, and the looks you get when you pull into a gas station.. I am drooling over the thing.... I look forward to the day I can say I own one.. One more year on the viper.... :o| Its only got about 6,000 miles on it.. :yam: Should spin 9,000 by the end of next season.. Its only broken in then... Time to hand it down to my dad..

Well glad you made the descision. It's a tough one. I really liked the look of that 2005 MachZ but question the relaibaility which is why I bought my second RX1. You will probably see 120 on the speedo but unless you add a turbo you probably won't see it on radar. I am really curious to see how these new 2005's perform. They have lost 23 Lbs (ER) and the weight transfer should be much improved. Weight transfer on the 2003 sucked big time. Lost alot of hole shots becuase of it. Nicest thing about the RX1 is peace of mind....you will NEVER blow this motor and fuel consumption is awesome! I consistently got 16MPG on regular no matter how hard I rode it. Between oil and gas I would save anywhere from $25-$35 per day over the guys I rode with.

So even if you don't break the 120 mark, you will never worry about not being able to ride because your sled is in the shop. These things are bullet proof.

Keeping up with those four sleds will not be a problem with the exception of the Mach Z, simply because it is new and we won't know how it performs until it snows. RX-Wonder is right about the unknown reliability component. Past experience with the other three sleds is no problem on the lake. You will win some and lose some, but you should never be left behind.

For your second question, I think you answered which sled you should buy. Fast, reliable, and trailable is how most people would describe the RX-1. There were several members on this site that rode over 10,000 miles last season with only minimal maintenance.

For the last question, I doubt any of those sleds in stock form will hit 120-ish mph. Add a turbo and all four sleds will be sucking your snow dust.

Given the sleds you ride with, it appears to be a game of "who has the fastest sled" contest. The Warrior will give you better hole shots simply because of the extra grip. Good luck with your choice.

I have heard that riding an rx-1 with a turbo is not reliable and very expensive, is this true?
With a turbo can you still trail ride around 4000 miles a winter and not worry that your going to blow something up?
