I have a 2006 Apex in our group in the UP. It has an intermittent ER_1 code that flashes. Riding down the trail at 7000 it is fine, as soon as you accelerate after that, the tach flashes down to 0, and the 2 lights come on. Let off the throttle, and the code clears, the lights go off and the tach starts working again. We rode 150 miles today trouble free. The last 10 miles is when it started acting up. Any suggestions where to start looking to fix? Thanks.

I would look at the ground blocks first. Easy to do and repair

Fix it now if its the ground block issue, otherwise you will be replacing the gauge cluster as I had to. Mine started with handlebar warmer/Yamaheater problems and worked its way to the gauge. From the Apex FAQ sticky above

Hmmm. What was your Yamaheater problem? I was just about to order this but was wondering if there were issues ?Fix it now if its the ground block issue, otherwise you will be replacing the gauge cluster as I had to. Go ahead and order the Yamaheater, great product. I'm sure my issues were in the ground blocks. I had trouble with my heater going nuclear or not working at all. Rock fixed me up over the phone but said I probably had the block issue. My gauge went before the fix and displayed the ER 1 code with engine light but sled kept working. Had to replace gauge and they are not cheap. I sold the sled as it was working ok at the time.Hmmm. What was your Yamaheater problem?
