I have a chance to buy an 06 Apex Gt with 1000 miles. He is asking 4500, I would sell one of my RX1's to upgrade to the Apex. Just curious if any Apex owners think this is a good deal and worth the upgrade?

I havn't seen it yet, I bought a trailer off of the guy years ago. He takes care of his stuff. It's stock, have you had any issues with yours? Any issues worse than the RX1's? I love these sleds, I'm always towing friends off the trail.

Yes I would buy it. I have the same sled with 12k miles on it. I love it wish I had only 1 k.

The GT has an electrically adjustable Ohlins shock in the skid. It's worth the upgrade just to get the mono rear. I came off an 05 RX and it was worth it...the fuelie motor is snappier...

7600 miles on mine, no busted cable here. Secret is to use 25 zip ties when refastening it! :-o

It's a good deal, jump on that one. I bought my 06 in feb of 2010 with 5000 miles for 4200. It had a new track and chain case/speedo brngs.

If you do some basc upgrades, (skid beef up, oft steering blocks, oilite bushing kit, rear ohlins revalve) you'll have a supreme high miler machine!

Yep great deal. Just sold my buddy mine with 4800 miles for $4800. I got a 2011 se holdiver. 06 has a Torn ohlins solenoid cable. That we already fixed once. But they are great sleds.

Yeah that's a good deal. If you decide to pass I'm sure a few dozen guys on here, including me, would be interested in buying it.

Only issues I can think of are the ohlins cable as mentioned, and possibly the chain case cover. They made changes in 07 and 08 to keep the gasket from sucking in. I lost a chaincase on mine because of this, but now I just pull the cover each year and check the gasket for damage and replace if i have any doubts.

Still loving my 06 with 10,000 miles. It's a big upgrade over an RX1.

6000miles check exhaust for cracks and exhaust donuts, check the mono shock for the welds see if they are still holding up. My shock welds let go had to get it rewelded. If the sled starts and it is ticking or you seem to hear exhaust noise from under the tank chances are exhaust is done. Also do stall test block rear exhaust pipes really well and if she stalls then exhaust is good. Hand warmers are a little cold but a good pair of mits and good to go.

yes, buy it. upgrade idler wheels when they crap out to yamaha accessory wheel. buy a supply of 6005 bearings and check them every few hundred miles.

Doughnuts, cracked ti pipes and cracked skid is about all that can go wrong.

Upgrade the front suspension bushings at 5000

Never had any problems with shock wire except when you have to remove the tape when you pull the skid.

Ours have 19,000 miles and I'm thinking of replacing. Can't decide to move to new viper, 1200 doo, 08 apex or just put bearings in the wheels and go another year.
