Sled looks great. In looking at your skid I have one suggestion for you. You may want to consider adding a cross shaft halfway between the rear arm pivot point and rear axle to prevent rails from twisting independent of each other. The 136 mono rails are notorious for developing stress cracks on the rear arm pivot hole. If you look at my rail saver kit for the 136 mono you will see we add a cross shaft too. The mono shock II skids also have a cross shaft for additional strength.

I was gonna mention (maybe) stick 4 wheel kit on it, long stretch there between rear axle and first outside wheel. Hyfax wear

Did you just buy the marginal snow kit and add it back there?

I changed the 6 red wheels with bigger 135mm polaris (kimpex) wheels last year.
So for rear side I just ordered 2 more to match & 2 used wheel mounts from Travis, you can get the frt 2 wheel kit anywhere eBay Travis might have them.
If your wheels are stock 130 mm just get 2 more of same?

I have the Pioneer Performance lowering kit with Yamaha wheels. Does anyone run without the extra wheels and how is the hyfax wear?

Just looking at it I like what it helps with extra wheels. I would think lowering kit is same result as using 135mm wheels, still a long stretch of rail for sag and wear.

people claim that is enough just to do what you have done but to Larry's point It sure wont hurt the rails to have more support. On my Xtx for now I am just replacing the stock wheels with the over sized X wheels. and will see how they do. I already run duponts but with the XTX skid that only means I can go 2 years on a set of hyfax instead of just one year so by doing the math I dont think I will be buying duponts again if the wheels work out I will run the set of duponts i have on till gone then depending on results of x wheels I will try stock or graphite slides next time. also will be keeping an eye on thing as I was going to add a set of extra wheels but travis kind of talked me out of it to try this first. I have quite the build going myself and will be keeping everyone posted on results.

Do you mind me asking where you found the blue skid plate? I can only seem to find black and I think your blue one looks sweet on your sled. By the way you did a awesome job on your new ride.

Amazing job for sure! The before and after from being in parts is incredible! Lot's of respect for someone willing to dive in that deep. I did it with my previous apex, but not all at once. You did it the right way!
Do those handguards clear the windshield fine? Seems to be a tough find on the Apex due to windshield clearance.
Nice work.

I've got (2) used blue ones in stock if you have not located one yet. Contact me if interested.

I got the skid plate from Pete Amato. He knew someone selling it so I grabbed it! Thanks for the kind words guys. As far as the extra wheels I think I'll run it like it is for a year and re think after I see how it does. They are stock Yamaha slides so we'll see. The handguards do clear my windshield but I am running the Apex mountain riser. I don't think they would clear with the stock riser. Also hman I suggest getting ahold of Travis on the skid plates he has. Very good person to do business with.
