The ATTAK really turned some heads and got one guy real excited.

One of the Maximum Sled guys broke out his check book and bought one on the spot.

The review is all positive with the exception of Dzus fasteners, and some personal preferences.

Those that have ordered ATTAKS will have lots of smiles.

Those that didn't order an ATTAK, read the review with a hanky... (KIDDING)

Worth reading,

I've got lots of smiles on just one face!!! lol

What I really want is lots of miles on my Attak!!!

Less than 7 months now!!!

I think the Attak will have some serious competition for sled of the year.
If the Polaris Fusion 600 HO or FST are performers it might be a tough call. However, juding from Polaris' past performance in recent years, Id say its a long shot.
I personally think the Apex GT will be sled of the year. Its got all the same strengths of the Attak but it has the GYT-R remote res shocks on the front and Ohlins electric rear suspension. To the best of my knowledge the Attak doesnt have the Ohlins electric rear.
Both are great sleds, but I think the gizmos of the Apex GT will give it the edge for sled of the year.

Awarded Sled of the year from who?? In my book the Attak will be ;)!
I could care less what the mags say when it comes to an award like that :ORC

The folks that I have talked with that have ridden both GT and ATTAK, favor the ATTAK.

My dealer loved the ATTAK.

I was away on business and missed the opportunity to demo ride.

Based on the review, Yamaha has designed the suspension specifically for the ATTAK.

Maybe they really found something that will really be contagious. Sled of the year material.

The GT’s features may or may not be features for the ‘07 ATTAK provided the ‘06 GT is favorable by the owners, proves to be a viable concept, and the geometry is suitable as well. This would seem to be a logical progression, however.

Per the discussions on the board: Based on a three year marketing cycle, if Yamaha drops the watercraft motor in the ‘07 ATTAK, bumps the horsepower up 10-15, then we would have yet another sweet package.

I feel that ride, comfort, reliability, and durability, is a priority. It seems that the ATTAK is going to fill that requirement. ATTAK will always be longer! This fact alone will keep many panties in a knot. ;)!

It would be nice to see the APEX line up as the sled of the year its been a few years since Yami has been sled of the year not since RX 1

Hey now, don't forget about that goofy looking Doo Freestyle :drink:

I personally think that a Yamaha will win the award of sled of the year (I never really thought about the "who" part, but I guess Snow Goer magazine would be my answer to that) but Im really not sure if the Apex or Attak will win that title.
Where I ride (Minocqua, WI) you hardly ever see any hybrid sleds. You usually see 10 121" sleds to every mid or long-track sled.
I must admit though, I saw far more mountain sleds this past year than I usually see.
However, the trails that I usually ride are very tight and twisty, and Im not confident that an Attak or Rage would be as much fun as an Apex or Vector.

Hey hondo, who is your dealer,if he said he rode the Apex Gt up at Lakeview he dosent know what he is talking about, all we had up there was the standard ER and the attak,i would have loved to have driven the apex Gt cause that is what i ordered until i rode the attak, and we changed out the shock package to be Gt on attak, sweet LaLaLa ;)!

I feel the same way about Hardcoresledder. All they do on that site is bash Yamaha and you have all the Polaris riders bragging about how great the 600 HO and FST are going to be.
I figure why go to HCS and read a bunch of 45 year olds (who act like they are 15) talking sh*t about how great their sleds are.
Id much rathar come here to TY and have some intelligent conversation and a little good-natured ribbing every now and then. :rocks:
After I got told that I was un-American and a traitor for prefering a foreign car I decided I was done with HCS. The comment, "if you wanna give the Japs your money, why not take it there personally? Make it a one-way ticket while you are at it, our gene pool could use a little weeding-out of the unpatriotic."
As I see it Auskins, why waste your time on any other snowmobile forum than TY?
