2006 ATTAK Sled Review on Maximum Sled World Wide

I totally agree. I live in MN so it's dominated by the two worst manufacturer's in the game (Cat and Pol). When I bought my SRX 600 brand new in 1998 I had everybody and their brother hurting their neck to get another glimpse of the blue rocket. Same story when I bought my Viper. I will guarantee crowds around my Attak in the hotel parking lot. I love having what no one else rides. Market share is great but most people in this area don't have a clue what they're missing with the big "Y". As far as I'm concerned it can stay that way.

ditto! ;)!

It's a hoot all right.. While riding in Da-yooper last year with my vector a "LARGE" # of people either stopped me or pointed as I went by... I like riding to a different drummer.. ;)! MM.

MNMSNOWBEAST: Hey southern buddy! Can you provide more details about the demo ride with ATTAK and the GT shock package? I know you certainly liked it. Will it be an option? What will it cost? etc...Why did they put the package on the ATTAK?

Thanks.

I recall many times when I still had my '90 Phazer II that even though I had what I considered to be an old, slow trail sled that a lot of riders of other brands would stare at my sled on many occasions.
Last winter I had several Polaris riders see me on the XC with my Yamaha suit and ask me, "Hey, are you a recent convert to Polaris?" I would always smile and say, "Nope, Im a Yamaha man 'till the end. The ONLY reason Im riding a Polaris right now is because the price was right." One several occasions they told me, "Yeah, those new 4-strokes Yamahas are really nice. Ive owned Polaris sleds forever though and I cant switch now."

It really is amazing the mindset of many people. Old habits are hard to change.

Closer to home, my brother is a "doobee" (600 REV and Mach Z) and can't get him off it.

He came up to ride for 15 days. We spent the better part of two days taking his trash to the doo dealer for freakin replacement. I was down for less than an hour one evening because I changed oil.

I'm glad he brought both sleds.

Agree, On a good stretch, and you pass a group of sleds taking a break or fixing what's broke, they are definitely "rubber necking" to check out what just went by.

They just don't get it. That's OK! In some ways it's a very good thing. We don't need too many more converts.

The other way that I look at it; there will be a year, and IMHO it's coming soon, where we see a lot more folks signing on the dotted line to play with a "Blue Toy". ;)!

True, but the red, green or yellow sleds spend far more time on the side of the trail with their hoods up than do the blue ones.

Well if money was not an issue I would go for the GT. It was a really nice machine to ride. I like the shorty because I can throw it around allot easier. The attck was an excellent machine as well but would stick to the trail a little more than what I wanted. I figure the Apex ER would suit me just fine but I am waiting for Yam Can to bring thier prices in par with the US. I would guess that the GT will be the "Sled of the Year"!!!!

Hi hondo,John the owner at Gary's yammi told me we could swap out the GT shock package from the original apex GT i ordered before i rode the attak lol, said he would do it for $700.00 more than what i paid for the sled, and that included his guys doing the swap.. Now i have heard some rumbling on here about the Ohlins Electric rear shock being different, that meaning the one that will come standard on the apex GT may or may not fit the attak, swap for swap,we may need to get the proper one from the factory, time will tell, but the GYT's on front will be a simple straight bolt on,just so you understand,i have not ridden any of the 06 sleds with the Ohlins or the GYT shock package yet,i wish i did, does this help hondo?? Its all i know for now,hey maybe we can hook up next year for a spin around some of those back trails around Eagle lake, speaking of Eagle lake,is ice out yet?? ;)!
