- 2006 nitro ER 1000
Hey folks. I’m brand new to this site. But been a Yamaha guy forever. I recently picked up a 2006 nytro with no miles and in need of a few odds and ends. I have fixed up what was necessary but I want to replace the stock track with something more Agressive. I picked up a 1.5 inch track for a super deal just the other day and I am about to start the tear down now in the coming week.
My question being, is there anyone who can hook me up with a step by step track changing forum or a video etc on the nytro ER. I’ve changed tracks before but am curious as to if the same methods are used on the 4stroker and if anyone has any tips or pointers.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
Also, has anyone ran a 1.5 on a nytro ER. Will I have to remove the rad supports. In my reaseaech it’s telling me that I may be able to get away without removing them!!?
Thanks folks!

track change is the same as on an rx1 or apex. there is a how to in the tec pages. seen a lot of guys on here run 1-3/8" lug tracks with no changes. might get away with the 1-1/2" with the tunnel protectors removed but i would try with them in 1st.
btw you might want to see if the timing chain tensioner for the engine has been replaced as there was a tec bullitin on it in the rs forumn.
lots of knowlegable guys on here to guide you in the right direction. welcome to the site!
