SnowGoer picked the Apex GT as the 2006 SOTY. That's 2 awards for Yamaha for SOTH in 3 years! They may have to choose them again in 2007 with #$%&*

Wasnt it just snowgoer that said that the MONO shock suspension was #4 of all the sleds??

I i have lost total faith in what snowgoer says,, even if they did say something good about the sled i bought!

I just picked that issue up (after I exhausted my Snow-Tech) what a waste of $3.99 - could've bought one extra samich this week.

im surprised they didnt pick the crossfire...ya know the extended firecat skid should make it #1 for all mags...seems like i stopped payin attention to that #*$&@ a long time ago-all i know is that my sled, beign a year old is probably 95% better than most sleds out there on the trails this year

I know Snogoer is just a rag, but how do you not give the GT the high honors (SOTY) this year. They would loose what very little credability they have left if they went with any other choice. With all the GT owners on this site, you should be thankful, now joe public can appreciate your machine! I wish it was the RTX (why did not get the GT :o| )

If I was buying a short tracker, my choice personally would be the RTX. The GT got the award because of the high-tech rear shock. I like the air shocks and I can turn a dial.

There were only really two choices for them to pick, the Apex GT or the Polaris Fusion 600H.O. They were the only really new machines. Cat won it with their M7 last year and the crossfire is basically a m7 with a shorter track and skidoo has nothing new except the 1000 renegade. I dont know how many GTs yamaha is going to make but it will be one of the only collectible sleds in twenty years.

You guys keep talking about them float shocks as if they were a proven shock. I was on the bubble about my GT or the RTX and after looking at 3 orange Sno-Pro F-7's with floats on them and talking to the owners at the gas pump one day, I made my mind up with a little help from Buster696 to go for the GT. The Fox floats I looked at had about 1500 miles on them and each rider said that the shocks had collapsed at least once on them. The seals blew out and the shock went dead. All 3 sleds had rubber skid marks all up and down the shock body and they said it was about to happen again. This is why I am staying away from them floats. Doug

But, the shock must be physically the same as Cats with just different valving for Yamaha's specs. Unless the insides are identical to a Yamaha/Olins inside. If not, I can't see them being much better than a regular junk Fox.
