2007 Apex MTX relay rods

So a couple of years ago I had the rear suspension rails bend right behind the tip up on my 2007 Apex MTX, when it did it bent the relay rods the run parallel to the rear shock. I replaced with a used stock suspension and now I see the relay rods are bent on this one too plus both limiter straps broke, any ideas on what caused this? Could it be that these issue caused the rails to bend last time? Is there a stronger replacement for the relay rods?
