Can the factory front GYTR shock be replaced with the one listed in the accessory catalog? I have a bent shaft on 1 shock, and am told it can't be repaired. The acc shock is over $100 cheaper that than the factory part number. I'm told the acc shock is valved different, and runs different fluid.
Would prefer to replace the assy with cheaper one if it's the same as original.

gytr shocks
I have read elsewhere on this forum where owners of GYTR shocks are told that parts cannot be obtained, or that these shocks are mere "throw-away" items.
What gves? Would Yamaha rather just sell a whole new shock? Given the repalcement cost I bet they would.
GYTR parts do not even show up on the yamaha parts fiche.
I'm confident I'll be able to find a reputable business to rebuild my GYTR piggy backs when I need it done. It just seems like a mixed message is being sent to the end user by the manufacturer regarding servicabilty of a product.
