So just picked up an 07 attak and put a few hundred miles on it, on some open stretches of lake trail I can only get the sled up to 155kmr. My buddies that have apexs and rx1s can all get up to about 180 to 200 on the dreamometer and think mine should be the same. as far as I and the last owner know its never been re geared. I took the belt off and noticed it's starting to crack along the sides and it measures 2 tenths of an inch thinner than the new one I put on. Haven't had a chance to break it in yet but do you guys think that will get me up to speed? or are there other things i should check?

1/4" worn? Yeah, it's trashed. I'm surprised it lasted that long without breaking.

I scrap belts when it's 1/8" worn from new.

I would check secondary buttons too. but yeah that belt is the main problem.

I agree with previous posts on belt and button wear but also take a look at the speedometer signal gear on the end of the drive shaft. A common thing to do is to grind one or two teeth off the gear to make the speedometer more accurate. You will be able to tell by checking for a large gap between a few of the teeth where a tooth is removed.
155km with an accurate speedometer is not that far off a normal top speed on anything other then good hard pack and/or ice on these machines.

Mark your primary clutch vertical up one of the sheaves with a magic marker. On a WOT run it should wipe out all of the mark except the top 1/4" being they are not overdrive cut from the factory. If it wipes off what I said you are achieving what it's going to do. If the belt is worn as you say it will never reach that and should be replaced.

I have seen this happen on a couple of my high miler sleds (over 10K miles), not sure how many you have on yours but the secondary spring weakens with age and I have moved it up a hole giving it a little more wined.
