Third winter for my son`s 07 phazer fx. 3000 miles, mostly on groomed trails and last week the rear linkage broke. He weighs 130 pounds and doesn`t ride hard. we had heard of some linkage problems but didnt pay much attention to it. I went to the dealer owner and he said that he never heard of any breaking, the warrenty manager never heard of it and the mechanic has never heard of it either
. I brought in the suspension and they took some pics of the broken link. even though they have never heard of it, they will look into it. i did approach the parts manager to ask him if he has ever sold or heard of an linkage update kit and he said no, but within a few minutes he did find the update kit. seems like things are at a stand still, with the snow rapidly dissapering and not sure where i stand with yamaha warranty and i`m not sure what else to do. Can someone please give me some names, numbers or advice on what to do. ?? I sure hope and expect warranty to cover this problem.????????

If its under warrantee it will be covered. The dealer can check your warrantee right online. If that is expired then the dealer needs to call and try to get it covered if that doesnt work you need to call customer service.Make sure you get the right kit.Kit replaces front arm, link, shaft, wheels and bolts.

I have a three year warranty that doesn`t expire until November 2009. is there any way of speeding up the dealer process or finding out if its covered by warranty

It usually take a few days for all the approvals to go through. So other than calling dealer to check not much you can do to move it along faster.

Thanks for the help. I got the whole setup replaced(very nice parts kit) it took about a week for them to figure out if the parts were covered.

Awesome!
