A relative just purchased a new RS Vector GT today after riding Polaris since 1993. I'm really happy he came back to Yammie. I was just curious as to how this sled will perform against our very good running stock Vipers. I guess I'll be finding out soon, but what can be expected out of a good clutch kit like Ulmers? Does any of the kits reduce the engine braking at all?

thanks........... :yam:

yes the ulmer kit will reduce the engine braking some.
Bone stock it' at oss up some viper run way better than others.Clutch it with the ulmer stage 3 and the viper won't stand a chance.

What's the difference between the stage 2 and the stage 3 kit? Is the stage 3 more of a drag kit or is it OK for trail riding? thanks.........

Stage 3 kit is lower engagement lower midrange cruising RPM and quicker backshift. Stage 1 = cheap upgrade, Stage 2 = nice compromise between Stage 1 & 3, Stage 3 = ultimate trail performance. All clutch kits are designed and tested as trail clutch kits, not setup for drag racing.

Hi Al, I'll see what he wants to do. The sled only has 100 miles after today. In short runs, it looks as though it runs right with mine. Not sure about top end yet. The clutching feels so-so but the sled is deceptively fast. My seat of the pants feeling is there is alot left on the table with this sled as far as clutching goes.

Vector's pick up huge with clutching!
