Hi Guys, Anyone care to take a guess on what this 2007 Vector GT is worth?
Orig track, not studded (a few lugs missing but no holes), looks clean but has 8300miles. New battery, ridden in ME and VT. Idler/carrier wheels may need to be replaced. Owner says a slight rattle under the seat when driving, but says no other "problems".

Thanks, HH

Thanks Apex, I appreciate your insight and will definitely consider purchasing it. Is there anything in particular that would concern you as potential problems at that mileage? At 8300 miles, I hope there's not trouble waiting that will present itself only when the snow flies.

I think the cam tensor was fixed by then. But the known issue are like A-arm bushings, Donuts, check the rails for cracks. I would look for a lot of play in the bars. The motor should be fine with that mileage.

My friend decided to get the sled. Planning on swapping tracks from her Polaris which has a newer and studded one with just 800 miles on it Needs a carb cleaning and we'll check the donuts as well. Will get pix and post. Think it was a good summer deal for $2400. Thanks for pointers guys

Finally, here are a few pix of the GT my friend just purchased. Looks pretty clean for an '07 with 8300 miles. Shes very excited to go 4 stroke and I think this sled will make her glad she did.
We're going to swap tracks, replace drive shaft bearings while the skid is out and check out the exhaust doughnuts. When do you recommend changing jackshaft bearings? Again, thanks for all the advice on the sled and what to look for.
HH

Man you wont find deals like that up here!! If your going through the trouble of changing tracks then you might as well change all the bearing in the chaincase and on the clutch side. While you have the skid out check it over for cracks somewhat common for the mono up to 07!

Somebody sure looked after that ;)!

Look into the Cam Chain Tensioner, Yamaha didn't update those till 2008 sleds. All 973CC 4 strokes, '05-'07 Vectors, and '06-'07 Nytro's had the problem. There are a ton of posts on the subject.

Hi Guys.
I have an 06 Rage with over 10,000 miles on it. I have done nothing to the chain tensioner. Is it still a concern at this mileage?

I am selling this fall and getting a new Vector but I don't want to stick somebody with a time bomb. I think i will do the donuts before I sell it too as they have never been changed

I've done Dad's tensioner and I'm waiting for Uncles to start making noise. The job is not too bad and if you're going to be in there to do the donuts any way......

Well, I took the easy way out.
I talked to the mechanic at my dealers.

He knows my sled having done a bit of work on it already.
He said with my mileage I don't need to worry about the tensioner.
He says they go within the first thousand miles and I have 10.
Weather or not he is wrong I don't know but at least I feel ok about selling the sled without the tensioner done. He is even interested in buying it from me.
