So I'm doing a lot of work on my '08 vector and got done with the carbs and corroded POS relay today. Getting to check out the air box and on my 08 I have a rear vacuum line that goes to the rocker/valve cover, a big breather line to the oil tank and a small line #27 in the bottom of the box that goes to nowhere. Can't find that it actually goes anywhere? That right? Also the big breather line #23 that lays inside the box has a small tear in it...about halfway between the open end and the connection made in the box. Think it's OK like this? The thing just lays in the box and the open end is in the box, the things over $20.

The hose on the bottom doesn't go anywhere. Just hangs there. My 08 had the same cut or slit in that hose in the middle of the air box too. Mine was a new sled from the factory. I have no idea why it is slit though.

The slit was put there in the event of ice build up at the end of the rubber tube.

Thanks guys! This site is the best. I went from needing a jackshaft bearing behind the secondary to now having everything apart except the front suspension, engine and primary. New chain case seals and bearings, New driveshaft and jackshaft bearings, rear skid is out and getting slides and wheels, exhaust checked and I'm doing copper donuts and just did the carbs of course pilots were dirty. Then that little relay next to the battery was full of corrosion....NOT CHEAP! BTW you can get aftermarket ones cheap but can you trust them? Anyhow I was putting that airbox back on and was like WTF is this now!!! So thanks for the help....I need a financial break!
BTW sled has a mere 3400 miles bought it with 2200ish from original owner. I knew I'd need to do some of this stuff next fall or after next season figuring I'd have 4500-5000 on it but this seems early too me. But hey once I'm done it should last a while!

Until you find something wrong with it after next season! <wink>
