the pipes on my bike are turning red hot from where they come out of the head. just wondering if this is normal on these bikes or if there is something really wrong [which is what i do believe]?
another question is; is there anyone else with a du that has the camo wearing off? i was told when i bought this bike that this wouldn't happen and now it is. any suggestions on what i should do?

pipe turning red is usually a ritch condition. check that the air filter is clean and the air inlet pipe for the box is clear. if it is, i would bring it to the dealer if it still has warenty.
as to the camo, i do not have any ideas as to why it is doing that. talk to selling dealer or the one you use about it. might be covered for this.

I thought running hot like that meant it was lean. Check your spark plug. Black is rich, White is lean. Should be kinda tan.
My Camo has worn from my legs and boots rubbing. Get some clear vinyl/contact type and place where needed if it bothers you.

usually ritch jaxom. i have turned my share of carbed motorcycle pipes red by leaving the choke on too long when warming them up.
