Speaking to 08 Phazer owners, How is your ride? Miles rode and any problems you may have had and what you would like to see changed on the 09 model. Thanks

I only have 260 k on my GT and am pretty happy with it
If anything I think bigger snow holes in the running boards and a smaller snow hole in the tunnel would work wonders . I have yet to experience any problems ,but Io also have minimal miles on it.

Got an '08 RTX love ridin it ,I really Ditchbang this thing hard. I now have about 780 miles on it. Only complaint I can think of is the hand warmers could be a little warmer next year and if Yamaha could make it snow once a week around my house!

i have a rtx with just under 300 miles on it. i love it im just figuring out how to ride it. im also throwing some new skis and geting my shocks revalved this week see if that fixs some of the small handeling issues i have with it. the ski push and harsh small stutter bumps or to get rid of them i soften the shock and bottom on the big bumps.

I have put on almost 800km's on my new 08 RTX in a week and a half anf it is awsome! Some of the most fun I have ever had on snow. No problems with it but I think I'm going to cover up the back hole with an excell plate and maybe add the hauck git ur done kit. Loving this sled.

As for the ski pushing I toasted my carbides at 200 miles and there not the best to begin with.

1100 miles on my RTX with no problems other than poor handwarmers, but I guess that's why the exhaust comes out the rear so you can warm your hands up.

i have a gt with 1000kms on it with no major problems. they should switch to the rebuildable shocks on the gt`s maybe with a stiffer rebound due to the constant bottoming off the groomed trail. and like everyone else the low heat handwarmers can use an overhaul.

Own a 08 mtx, love 1200 kms, no problem either than the light cover breaking, but thats not a big problem
08 rtx with 1550 miles i carry a hammer to bust the ice from the tunnel, sometimes i get a burnt plastic rubber smell but i can't seem to isolate it. the hyfax is original. i got 5100 miles on my 03 rx1 hyfax!!! no one believes me. absolutely in love with the air shocks. i am trying to figure out the rear susp. i can't raise the skis; the torsion is set on hard; i weigh about 185 w/gear; the sag is at the spec limit with the torsion on hard; what do i do with the center shockor the rebound on the rear? the sled seems a little tippy in the corners but eats moguls i know u can't have it all. i'm running 65 lbs in the floats can u put shorter stop at the rear to give more transfer. i suppose i should stud the track, any help or suggestions would be great. rode 818 miles in 3 days and felt great. thanks ride safe!

I noticed that I was getting that burnt plastic rubber smell last week also. I took the air way up to 100, measured with the skis off the ground, and it no longer feels tippy in the corners. I rode an 07 GT that will lift the skis on take-off, but the RTX won't at all. Excel makes a cover for the rear that stops the ice build-up, I will be getting one for mine.

Its probably the belt you guys are smelling, I can smell mine all the time and my buddies 07 is the same thing. These clutches run very hot and there doesn't seem to be much for venting on these things, go ahead and touch one of them just after you ride.

the burnng smell might be the slidders

I don't think its the slides, because I can smell it when riding and normally you can't smell the slides burning when riding unless you are behind the sled. Also, I am not getting excessive ware from the slides.

I have an 08 Phazer. I lost the right front idler wheel at 50 miles. The front of the torsion spring was between the hook and the wheel rather than in the hook ( I don't see how it could come out, I believe it came from the factory this way ). This caused the back of the wheel to wear and come off the bearing. My son could smell plastic burning while riding behind me. But we couldn't find the problem. I was 45 miles from my truck so I put the spring in the hook and rode back. I wore out the slider on that side. The dealer replaced the wheel but not the hyfax. I have a marginal snow wheel kit on order and installed a tunnel block off plate which helped with the icing. If you look at any of the SkiDoo revs they have more idlers up front than we do and all the people I ride with get four times the hyfax wear I do. I still like the sled better than the revs, I just wish Yamaha would address these problems. I have spent about $200.00 of my own money to fix the icing and hyfax problems.
