I am changing jack shaft bearing (10,000 miles), does any know where to get an aftermarket bearing? I took the #s off original and got a bearing but not the same as Yamahas, the inside race is beveled on the original.

Maybe you can add your location in your info section, then members will be able to answer your question better.

Royal distributing has kits for Jack shaft and drive shaft, good kits for the price, includes chaincase seal

I am told that Yamaha is the only one to have this special bearing with a tapered end. Save your self a lot of trouble and get it from Yamaha.

Go with the proper Yammi bearings from your dealer. Maybe a few dollars extra, but you don't have to pay for shipping. Just changed my Yamaha bearings last year at 15,000 miles. Only the driveshaft bearing was done. So these bearings do last.

I brought that bearing to 3 different bearing shops. None of them had any idea where to get one (except from the Yamaha dealer)

It is a 6206K the K sands for the taper.

Extreme
mine went at 9100
mine screwed the shaft and the tapered insert locknut
in canada it is pricey
i think $130 for the bearing and locknut
and $350 for the shaft
when repairing i found the chaincase needed shimming
the shaft runs truer now
