2009 Apex Tank...

2006-2007 APEX 38L
2008 and 2009 35.6L
The most i have put in was 35 L after driving 50+ KM with the fuel light on. 200KM Average driving on groomed trails sounds about right.

You put 35 litres in the 38 L tank?? so theoreticly, there was still room? but some tanks don't empty completly, and that is why it scares me about max distance between fill ups..

:drink:

Yes i have the 38L tank. Max distance between fill ups is so dependent on riding conditions. A happy right thumb and fresh snow will really cut down your range. you get to know your sled but we still use the saying .... DONT PASS GAS ! FILLER UP !

Have never run out with my 07 but have often seen 225 km on odometer for the trip. I was studded & that had dropped my mpg's down. I'm going to check results tomorrow with the new iceripper I put on this year. Low snow this year & only have 54 km on new track.

If you want to get the most out of a tank, there are a few things to do. Check all of your bearings in the skid and drive train. Grease the skid, adjust track tension. Now for the key to holding more fuel; if you want to top the tank off to the lip, you'll have to relocate/reroute the breather tube. If you fill much past the white sleave in the filler neck it will start to pour out the bottom. Just remove tank shroud and route it up to the bars then back down to the foot well, there should be enough slack. The extra capacity should make up for the dfference in tanks.

When I'm out ridding I just pull that white plastic sleave out of the tank before I start puting gas in it...can get over a 1/g gallon more in it thast way...,maybe its not a good idea?

2008-2006 gas tank swap

I have a 2008 ApexGT with the small tank and also a fuel tank complete from a 2006GT.
Has anyone done this swap? Would like to make sure the older tank will fit

did a search, couln't find anything
Thanks in advance

In answer to your second question, yes the speedometer is much more accurate on the 2009-2010 models! About time. We'll have to GPS one in the next few weeks and post some results.

Be careful it tends to spill gas threw the VENT tube on your left side of the sled...what a mess and smell, it happened to me while trailering once :o|

correct, NEVER do that if your trailering OR putting the sled in a warm garage, only if your filling up just prior to riding,I do this all the time,I carry a 2 gal. container in my trailer to top it off just befor I ride

I've run out of gas 2 times on my 06 GT and the most I could get in the tank is 35 liters which is 9.2 US gal.and that is with the tank sleve removed . I also found out that by feathering the gas throttle your good for at least 5 more miles after it quits the first time!!! This was on level ground I was driving on.My 03 RXI would hold 38 litres or 10 US gal. :o|

Question 2 my 09 ltx was within 2 to 5 mph of my gps which is wayyyyy better than my 06 rtx was 06 rtx RIP
