I just bought a 2009 Apex GT. the grip warmers suck. i know there are some after market "yamaheaters" but i don't do any work on my sled other than change hyfax. NOT very machanical and want to stick with a dealer solution.
My question is, is there an upgrade from Yamaha for the 2009? i know on my 2006 RTX i did get the upgrade but i thought everything after 2006 included the upgraded grip warmers.
road the last couple of weekends. Although it was warm outside i tested the grip heaters on full at night and they barely get warm. We were running lakes, fast trails etc.. so my RPM's were over 6k most of the time too.

no yamaha has no fix for this problem do not buy the up-date kit that in the accessories catalog they only work a little better on the scale of 1-10 mybe a 3 the only way to fix it is the yamaheater at this time if the sled is still under warranty complain to your dealer and Yamaha
I just had some insurence work done to my 07 rtx and my dealer installed new grips and warmers from yamaha.I had never heard of any kit but he said they have put them on a couple of sleds this year. They work much better than stock.I've ridden twice on trips with the new ones.I'm not sure if they are yamaha parts or not, so i would ask your dealer about this. The grip has a totally different texture than stock.Good luck.

Nope, you're SOL.
Best you can do is complain to the Dealer and maybe they can work something out for you.

YAMAHEATER ALL THE WAY!

You can install several Yamaheaters in the same amount of time to change hyfaxes............ If you can change hyfax by yourself you can handle the yamaheater....... its plug and play......
