i recently bent my stock bars and instead of getting new stock bars i chose to go with a set of protaper bars they have a bend i really like and feel comfortable sitting or standing up, my question is for the guys i read about using the spray foam insulation inside the bars to keep the heat in did you notice any change in how well the grips heated up or stayed warm? did you ever change heaters or still using stock? i also ordered a set of deep slide on hot grips witch will allow me to place the grip where i want. thanks.

I have used the foam on my '06 rtx. It helps hold the heat in once the bars are warm. Helps a bit. The can only cost me $2.45 or so at walmart. Do it...for the money it's worth it. Not a huge difference, but when you have crappy warmers to begin with, every bit helps.

after bars are installed, start at the tail pipe, left first, then right, takes about 8 cans...... on a serious note, most grips have a hole in the end, shoot some into each end and the excess will seep out. if theres no hole drill one.

I do notice when I'm running cruiseing along about 40mph or so it heats up much more so I assume that voltage going to it while at lower speeds plays a factor.
