Just traded my 07 venture for a phaZer mt I must say it handles way better. However it has some issues. I can't find the spare belt or tool kit. Also I can feel a thumping in the left running board while going slow(11km). I checked the belt it's in perfect shape. It seems as if There is somthing stuck in the track but I checked by lifting the sled and removed the belt and rotated the secondary clutch and it all seems smooth. I don't understand what it could be and help is appreciated! Thanks

You probably have the small pouch in front behind the bumper between the a-arms. Belt and tools are in there.

For the thumping, maybe it's something with the skid. A bad idler, especially the uppers that have a tendency of flat spotting when they freeze up. If that's the case, there is an Arctic Cat wheel that fits perfectly with full rubber.

Hey V-maximum, did you find the source of the low speed thump under your left foot?
My 08 MTX is doing the same thing.

I just got back from a ride and when coming up the driveway was able to get it to do it even more loudly if I kept it between 2-5 km.

Anybody?

So I pulled the bearing on the left side of the machine as the thump was coming from the plate behind the speedo drive. The bearing had some side to side play, so I replaced it.
Took for a couple of rips up the field, and all was better. LaLaLa

Went for a ride last night a the thump was back again, worse than ever! :drink:

Anyone have any ideas where I should look next?

Check the bearing on the right side on the drive shaft. Maybe the noise is transferring. Look at all you idler wheels to if they have flat spots.

Well crawled back under the sled, spun the secondary, and the thump was right above me ear. Looked up and saw one of the set screws fell out! Ran to the road cause it was garbage day, dumped it all over the driveway and dug out the old bearing. Took a close look at it a found one of the set screws on it was seized, and would not have been placing any pressure on the shaft. :o|

A little bit of Blue Loctite on both set screws, cranked the snot out of them, let it sit for 12 hrs, and no more thumping!! ;)!

Good you found the source but wonder if using Loctite will prevent you from removing that bearing at a later date? I've had a biatch of a time to remove them when they were seized and had to drill them out. I now use anti-seize on them but put them tight enough to prevent backing out.

Time will tell, I put about 70km on it over the last couple of days, and everything seemed to go great.
Went out for a little tour today and about 25 km into it I could hear a slight tump tump tump on the left side when slowing down. I'll pull it into the garage tonight and see if anything backed off.

This is getting old pretty quickly.
The old Bravo is looking better by the minute!

Almost sounds like the bearing is loose in the retainer (the one with the four bolts). Are the track sprockets good and tight on the drive shaft?

I'm not sure on that. I'll check it out when I can stand to look at it, without wanting to drive over it with the plow truck. :die

I always like to wait 24 hrs when something like this happens. :o|

It cools me down! :-o

Shits going to happen. Just to give you a heads up on what to expect coming up, loose steering, front control arm bushings, broken rear pivot arm, freezing relays, front heat exchanger icing up, poor starting in cold weather, reverse not engaging, heated grips not hot enough, starter issue, exhaust gaskets leaking and exhaust flex pipes cracking. I think I got them all. Are you ready to take the plow truck out?

It's out in the driveway as we speak. It wouldn't take much on the right day. As you see I don't mind fixing stuff, but I like to do it once!

Then again, I could just put it in back and use it as weight for the winter.

Great job on that truck willyswagon

Well I think we finally found it. Small burr on the shaft kept the bearing from seating properly.

The bearing was staying to close to the retainer, causing it to be just slightly askew in the hole.

Cleaned up burr, tapped bearing in, tightened up the set screws, and all seems better for now.
