2009 Yamaha Nytro bogey wheels

Everybody knocks the small low snow wheels. Sure, they're spinning like crazy if you're constantly doing 100mph lake runs all the time but for trail riding, they work fine. If you maintain the bearings by regreasing them and replacing them when needed, they'll last. I had one wheel leave me because the bearing failed and I knew it was failing.

I have Polaris Whhels and 4 minimal snow wheels at the front curve. Currently have 14,800 miles on original rails. I usually change the hyfax every 4,000 miles or every other year

I have been through mu;tiple sets of the marginal wheels, even with new bearings every year, they still went bye bye. I gave upn on them and now realize that with the larger wheels at the shock, the front isn't a problem anymore

Watch running oversized wheels. Had the larger kimpex wheels on mine, really helped the slider wear but ended up cracking both rails where the mounts attached from impacts or sled landing and the wheels taking the initial impact.

I am no tucker so an ultra aggressive rider would have his rails splintered in no time. Way easier to change hyfax every year. Ended up putting old wheels back on. DuPonts work well, also the white plastic slides hold up better than black.

Yep, 135mm Excell wheels and low snow wheels up front at the curve. Kimpex also makes a 135mm wheel which is a direct swap and looks stock. Both use 6004 bearings and are replaceable.
X2 plus the DuPont hyfaxes and problem solved.

10 years and 16k km, never had a problem with oversized wheels. However, I must admit, I put on Doo wheels before Excell and Kimpex made the oversized wheels, so I used Doo wheel mounts which have an extra bolt.

Because this setup worked so well, I kept the internal wheels that are on the suspension support links stock.

Pics of my Dupont and skid bushing work... I have inner wheels as well as outers up front. I have considered adding another set of small wheels up front at the uptick in the slides but don't have a wear issue with the Duponts and current number of wheels.

So you used Duponts as well as oversized wheels? They must last forever but that ain't cheap. The Duponts are like $110CAD each! That plus the cost of the wheels, must be looking at around $500 total!

The slides were worn when I bought it and it already had the extra set of "Excel" wheels installed with a set of spare bearings. I replaced the bearings as I went through my sled (see https://ty4stroke.com/threads/2009-nytro-front-end-rebuild.149099/) so I went with Duponts based on what people were saying here. I hope I don't have to change them... ever!

Thanks a lot guys for all the info I’m not proud to admit but part of the slide wear maybe due to lack of maintenance on my part, I finally got my skid out as I’m putting in a new track and the old track had 0 clips left. And I was missing a few front idler wheels. With that being said I’m going to try replacing all 4 idling wheels and slides and depending on price I’m going to look into the DuPont slides. I’m hoping to make this my back up sled next season, the wife gave me the green light to get a new one but want this to be a reliable back up and slide wears been one of my biggest issues

I’d like to upload a pic of the skid but all the photos I try say they’re to large to process

I did this and have over 10,000 mi on them and they are still in great condition. This is the way to go.
