If you have a cracked stock header, give me a call. I have stainless direct replacement headers that eliminates the EXUP assembly (remove calbes, leave servo motor attached so it thinks it's still working) that are made from a better quality, thicker wall material. Direct bolt in and includes a new set of copper exhaust donuts with the header. They are $899 + shipping. 605-387-2833

Why would anyone delete the exup ?
 
I’m going to tear into my 2012 with 9000 miles on it this summer. Original donuts. Im expecting to see a broken exup cable or 2 and a cracked pipe
 
That is nice, just thinking is there any way to prevent the exup cable from breaking? like spraying rust check on the cable if possible without causing a fire, keeping it adjusted up properly, must be something we can do to keep it working as long as possible, also what are most riders getting out of there exup before they break.
 
princesledalot, you'd replace it if you knew it really doesn't work and the one on your sled was damaged beyond repair. Ran 3 seasons with it wired open. Same clutching as when it was working. No difference in performance detectable. YES! I believe the Dino graphs showing it makes more low end torque. MY Sled operates in that range for a millisecond.... Hah, if I knew what that is. Any how, over 2 grand for a new one or replace it with used. Not in to replacing parts like this with used. This is a QUALITY piece with copper donuts. With over 13,000 miles on my Apex, I'll likely never have to replace this 1.

That is always what I thought about the EXUP as well. It is supposed to increase torque in the 6 to 7000 rpm range and it probably does but when you squeeze the throttle it instantly jumps past 7,000 rpm even off the line so I tend to agree that it could have been more of a sound emission thing or even a fuel emmision at 30mph ish! Being titainum I've always worried about replacement. In canada its over 3,000 bucks so when its pooched a stainless header goes in!
