With a Knock Sensor and 38mm header diameter, 39mm intake, new forged pistons, new intake cam, new hydraulic tensioner, and EXUP

How will the new Engine react to Boost? Will the Knock Sensor help to keep the engine in one piece, will EXUP be a tuning nightmare?

Will the MPI S/C bolt right on, or does the EPS interfere for fitment reasons? Will there be a learning period or should the new sleds electronics not be an issue and S/C kits will be available early fall all dialed in?

Will the efficiency changes be an even bigger benefit for boosted engines?

Any idea of what we will see out of this engine 6 lbs of boost from a Supercharger?

Sure wont be puttinga any type of front mount on that sled, as the steering motor is in the way.

They bumped up compression on it that is no good right there.

I doubt the high end potential is any better than the old Apex.

The Knock sensor is great to have as long as it works OK with the boosted engines harmonics. It may pull timing all the time if it reacts to the boosted engines higher power pulses.

Lets see what the experts come up with they may just surprise us.

cheers..........

If the knock sensor react the same as on a gm ls1 engine on boost, all we had to do was to 'desensitize' the sensor a little bit and its working PERFECTY. You can run right on edge and still save the engine if deto occur if the sensor is correctly working.

2011 APEX ENGINE ?

Anybody have something new.........what's the new compression ratio (11,8:1 ????); crankcase and cylinder head are different, samething for head gasket, but camgears and exhaust cam are the same .

several have dynoed, all have come in over 162 hp (Low mile motors). If you check my past posts you'll get my take on an unsupervised ride on what looked like a full production xtx ( no funky grafix or #'s). Mid range is explosive (+20hp) and if you think CVT only matters at max RPM, your wrong. In the right hands there will be very few sleds that can beat it all the way down the lake and it will do it every day! If you got the dozzy, buy it stud it and ride it. Build an older model apex for giggles............. they work without the guessing. Experiment on the 2011 and you will be sad.
Just my opinion
regards

The SC Installed fine on our pre production 2011 Apex and we have sold dozens to dealers and have had no issues so far. The only difference is on the GEMS . It piggybacks off each injector instead of the big gray plug.
