Re: 2011 Apex skis
No they are not, He anwsered this question already re-read the thread.
Those are Slydog Trail Skis with 6" carbides on them. They will have a black loop on them as well. At some point I will change the wheels in the rear skid to the same color scheme as the skis.

And who ever said they were not standard, just identified what they were, why couldn't Yamaha use someone elses skis, we all know they needed something better.Crewchief47 said:Now now boys, we all occasionally miss a reply.....

Post #3 and post #5 of this thread said that.
Yamaha did design a new ski this year for the apex. On the test ride its not as bad as the old, but still not as good as aftermarket, lol! Go figure!
Do a search for 2011 reviews from end of last season there is alot of different peoples take on the new skis/sled you'll get alot of good info on it. I think even some good pics.

These are Slydog trail skis that I installed. The factory Yamaha skis are still in the box as they came in the crate. Ulmer Racing has 3 Apex's (Apex, Apex XTX, and Apex SE) to test with so we will test the stock skis on one of the sleds (likely Apex XTX), but will probably use the other two to try different Slydog ski combinations.

How can you have a clutch kit without testing a new motor power curb??...
or is it just like the old motor??..wich would be a bit desapointing.... but anyway.. really nice sleds... i hope within a year to jumping on the 2011 bandwagon..

We have done testing on a 2011 Apex for new products all through the summer. Clutching is a product we can get setup on our chassis dyno and have ready to go before the snow flies. The new Apex does have a stronger power curve than the old motor.
