I have a new Apex SE. When I ride the tighter trails it seems like am getting some belt slip. Happens after decellerating, then gettng back on the gas. Seems like the belt moves down in the secondary and is applying engine braking, then when I get back on the gas it is in the wrong spot, so it slips a bit until it moves back up. Does my diagnosis sound correct? Is this normal or do I have something not quite right?Overall the clutching seems pretty good.
SECONDARY STICKING
I also have the same problem---I am going to twist the spring 10 deg.
more and see if problem is fixed. Seems like clutch does not back shift very
well when on the brakes. This may effect gas consumption? Others I have
spoken to have the same problem!

Please post the results of the 10 deg change. Thought about that but thought I would see what the clutching experts say. I only have 500 miles but it seems like belt wear is a little high also. Will discuss with my dealer also just to see if he has any ideas.

When you chop the throttle quickly from hi speeds the secondary has no time to backshift
The belt gets caught part way down the secondary.

Same problem with my 2011 APEX SE. I installed a clutch kit from bender racing & it is cured. Backshift is excellent & mid range is awesome!

ogre, PM system appears to be down....Thinking I may go with a clutch kit for my Apex to fix the backshift issue. Are you happy with the Bender kit? I would probably go Bender or Ulmer. Did your kit include weights? Do you think it hurt mileage at all? I do almost exclusively trail riding, don't want anything too agressive.
Thanks

I am happy with bender clutch kit, better backshift & mid range is awesome. Bender racing canada is only 20 minutes form my house & they have been great to me. Stock clutching on 2011 apex se is horrible, bender kit really bought sled to life!

Im usung the 2 speeds from heelcklicer. Fixed the belt slip problem and feels much more responsive.

I just bought a Bender clutch kit for my 2011 se and it does use RAT weights. If you go to Benders web site you will see what the rat weights are all about. They say the kit will give a 2011 apex 6-7 sled lenghts in a race. I'll be happy if I get half of that.
