Don't know if this is a problem when actually riding or not, but on the jackstand my secondary clutch will normally stay opened a bit when letting off of the gas or when applying the brake. Seems like this is creating a lot of slack in the belt and it seems like it would affect performance.

Thanks all!

How far is the belt into the secondary? On my Nytro the tolerance is .5 mm below to 1.5 above. I had to shim it to get it adjusted properly after installing a new belt this fall even though it was in spec with the original belt.

Well, when the secondary fully closes the belt sits flush with the top and the belt deflection is good. What appears to be happening, is that the secondary doesn't like to close all the way on its own for whatever reason (at least on the jackstand) and then the belt is sucked down about 1/4" into the secondary.

While you are looking at your secondary take a look at the ramps of your
helix. Mine were very rough from the casting. This sure will be hard on
the plastic sliders and cause shifting problems.
I polished mine starting with 400 grit down to 1000 and eventually got it
super smooth.
Take a look at yours maybe that is part of your problem.

That is perfectly normal. The effect of engine braking and the lack of a coasting force on the track will stop the track before the belt gets all the way to the top of the secondary. Perfectly normal on the jackstand as the real world does not operate the same way when riding!

Yup! Just found out it is a non-issue when actually riding the sled. Just looks strange on the jackstand I guess (coming off of a 2 stroke).
