Hi, my headlight has stopped working. Both the high beam and low beam does not work. I measured the voltage with the engine running at the bulb connector and there was 14 volts at the light. I tested the bulb with a power supply and it worked so it’s not the bulbs. If I use an ohm meter to measure the ground pin at the connector it measures 100 ohms. Does anyone know if that is right? Thanks

Check the headlight relay. Think its second one from left above the left footwell. To troubleshoot just swap it with another one. There are three that use same relay. First one should be fuel pump. If you switch with it and fuel pump does not run then you know that relay is bad

Thanks, will try it tomorrow. I was looking for a relay but couldn’t find any and the owners manual doesn’t say anything about relays.

Headlight relay is the only one of the 4 relays in the foot well that has 5 pins/wires. The other 3 relays are 4 pin/wire.
Fire up the sled and change form high to low beam. Feel if that 5 pin relay clicks. If not check the power and ground to it. If those are good replace the relay.

Hi, I’m sorry I haven’t been able to work on this until today. Do you know what the wiring for the relay is? It seems like the black wire is ground which I didn’t expect. If I start the sled I doesn’t seem to have any voltage on any pin at the relay. I also ordered a new relay and that didn’t work also. It looks like it is a wiring problem. Thanks

Does anyone know how to turn on the headlights without starting the sled? It’s tough to debug a problem when you need to start it every time a change is made. Thanks

lights run from a coil on the stator when engine is running. you would have to energize that pin to check the lights.

is fuse good? you could feed it through there.

Use a jumper wire from the battery to the fuse box. There is a fuse for the lights. Just feed it battery power to help you test the wires at the relay.

I found the problem. Not sure what made it do this but I cleaned it up and put it back together and it worked. That is until I put everything back together tried it again and it doesn’t work. I’ll have to take another look in a day or two.

wow that has had a lot of amps/heat through it.

That connection is weak and is causing issues. Cut off that block and solder all the wires together.

Mine was the larger of the two connectors you have to remove to take light pod off....ended up cutting black wires on both ends and bypassing
